I had the pleasure of seeing “No Impact Man” at an event sponsored by our local councilmember at San Jose’s City Hall. I’m proud of our city for sponsoring this free event, and I would highly recommend seeing this movie.
There is no question that the Beavans take their project to extremes, but through these extremes I found myself thinking about small things that I could do to lessen my own impact.
The best part of this film is his wife’s commentary and remarks on various aspects of the project. One example is after they have their big screen TV taken away, there is a great scene where she sees a large screen television in a store and reminisces about what they have given up. In my opinion it is her perspective which makes the movie real and something we can relate to.
