California living and adventures in creativity

Jun 20
It’s the weekend, and hopefully a time when everyone can move a little more slowly.  It is the perfect time to take notice of your surroundings and take joy in the little things.
We have a beautiful magnolia tree in our backyard, and it is now in bloom.  It seems  tragic that each blossom is so short lived.  I’ve even tried to float these magestic blossoms in a bowl to extend our enjoyment of them, but they just quickly turn brown.
The picture above was taken out our office window 2 days ago, and already the blossom has wilted and is on the verge of dropping.  Fortunately, there are others ready to bloom, but the one pictured was spectacular.  Have a nice weekend.
